Dear Readers,
The days are growing longer, the leaves on the trees are tender and fresh, the world is bursting with life and new beginnings, and, as we approach the first anniversary of the Distant Reaches, we bring to you a new series: The Pantheon Fantastical!
What is this? What tantalizing tales shall be revealed?
Beginning next Sunday, once every month, we will publish a hitherto unseen entry from the The Pantheon Fantastical by legendary Binder and scholar of Uncanny Beings, Silvana Rhinebeck. Rhinebeck, as you no doubt already know, was a powerful mage who dedicated herself to the study of Uncanny Beings —creatures from the realms of chaos beyond the Meridian — in all their myriad forms.
She recorded her studies in a great tome, the Pantheon Fantastical, intending it to be the definitive encyclopedia and depository of knowledge of these magical beings. Alas, it is incomplete! Rhinebeck is officially deemed a missing person, and mysteries, legends, and rumors swirl around her vanishing. Some scholars argue that, through some mishap or misadventure, she is alive but trapped somewhere beyond the Meridian.
Yet the work she left behind, which we will begin to share with you next week, is the most comprehensive and engaging record of the Uncanny Beings ever created. (To delve into the pages of the Pantheon Fantastical, be sure to upgrade to a premium subscription.) We hope you enjoy!
Cheers,
Benjamin Reeves
